At the beginning of the year, I mentioned that this new year would be about steady growth. Growing the aspects of The Giving Gifts that already exist, and if you know me, you know that steady isn’t always necessarily natural for me. Yet, as I continue to grow as a leader and am trusted to grow with The Giving Gifts, I am beginning to see the beauty of steady. These past three months have been probably the most challenging AND reassuring that what is being created through The Giving Gifts is greatly needed in our world, from the podcast to the different resources to even the conversations. I don’t always talk about the commitment to ongoing learning and research regarding young people and creating resources with a mental health foundation and trauma-informed care. DISCOVER:Surf was the first resource that spurred consideration of what other resources could be made and for who. Discover is a series of resources; right now, three will be available for communities globally and customized to the young people they are serving. Before going into more detail, I encourage you to check out the refreshed page and let me know what stands out.
The Giving Gifts website is going through a series of changes right now. Discover, Shellebrate, and Leader Connection pages have all been updated. I am removing the giving page for now because each one of those pages has an opportunity to give directly. From the beginning of The Giving Gifts, it was imperative to have full transparency regarding how money is being received and used. I will always ensure you know exactly where your financial gifts are going and how they are used. The greatest resource needed is operations, provided I can continue developing and maintaining all the moving pieces. As The Giving Gifts continues to take grounded steps towards steady growth, it is exciting to consider how the resources developed will continue to be used. With a very thankful heart and hopeful posture, I invite you to consider your part in everything The Giving Gifts is doing & will continue to do.
