A significant shift

I just want to express and extend an immense amount of gratitude to Nicole for the pivotal role from October to January in the reshaping of The Giving Gifts. Her passion and perspective breathed new life into our mission, vision, and branding. Nicole's unique perspective on the world, specifically the power of environmental advocacy has had an incredible influence on the development of the Hubs, the cleanups, and will continue to have impact on all we do. Not only did Nicole make significant contribution to the organization she has made a very significant impact in my life, she has challenged my perspective on how I view this world and my role in it, she has introduced so many new ideas, and practices, and books, and people, I will be a different person and leader because of Nicole, and for that I am very thankful. As Nicole continues to pursue her vision in Oahu I just want to acknowledge the significant impact she has made and anticipate the ripple effect she will continue to bring to the world.

The beginning of a growing community

As you may know, our first cleanup here in Ensenada took place on March 2nd, and I'm excited to share the heartwarming moments and impactful connections that have unfolded in Ensenada. 20 wonderful humans came together on that memorable and rainy day. Together, we collected 268 pounds of trash, sorted through lots of fascinating finds, and formed the beginning of some beautiful friendships.

I do have a confession, the recycling process has been quiteeee a learning experience. From Saturday to Tuesday, my car became a temporary recycling bin. As I write this, I think the smell has finally faded (or maybe I've just grown accustomed to it!). The commitment to recycling won’t end, I loved that we got to sort through items together, I am grateful in knowing that there are so many connections we can make within the theme of recycling, we’ve just got to figure out where to bring it and maybe how to get it there!

March 22-24: Equinocio Surf Open

I am SO excited about this…The Giving Gifts is stokeddd to be partnering with Equinocio Surf Open. From March 22-24, we'll be actively involved, not only assisting with the event but also hosting a cleanup activity. Equinocio is being hosted by a group of incredible women, with a clear mission is clear: to save our cherished beach, "Tres Emes. which is where we are also committed to hosting the monthly beach cleanup. It’s been pretty disheartening to learn of a company's interest in fish farming, potentially jeopardizing the waves that are so incredibly special to so many people in this community, however, watching and being part of this unifying movement that is organically taking place is exciting and hopeful. Continuing this momentum our next cleanup will be two weekend after Equincocio on April 6th!

Whats next'?

The Giving Gifts is quickly evolving into a force that brings hope to places where it seems scarce, a vision we’ve always had and are just beginning to see take on new growth. It's about creating opportunities for connections and building a community where everyone can identify their unique gifts and learn how to use them for a greater purpose. As I reflect on these experiences and consider what’s ahead my heart is so filled with gratitude. There are so many things being considered and in motion for April and beyond, I can’t wait to continue to share. Thank you for being a part of this process with me. As always, your support and encouragement are always welcome.
