SEASON THREE - THE GIVING GIFTS PODCAST - EPISODE 2 - 9/26/22

small business big vision with juliette navarro

MEET JULIETTE NAVARRO

If you walk into Turista/Casa Negra, a coffee shop here in Ensenada, Mexico you will most likely meet Juliette, the business owner. If you stay a few moments you’ll browse through CasaNegra, the currated shop host to local brands. If you’re there on a Monday through Friday you’re in for a breakfast treat from Mornin. It won’t take you more than a few moments to realize that this space is more than simply another coffee shop.

If you stay a little longer you’ll notice Raw (the super cute seafood restaurant ran and operated by Chef Melissa Navarro) & Escala (the vibey wine bar ran and operated by Stefanie Navarro)all in the same cute little plaza, and if you’re really lucky you may even catch Juliette on the turn tables, the resident DJ on any given night of the week.

“It’s not just a coffee shop, its not just a clothing store, it’s not just a breakfast place..it’s a community of people caring.

When you walk into Casanegra, dine at Raw, sip at Escala you’re not only supporting these incredible small businesses you are actually part of a family vision, a larger vision for community, connection, quality, and purpose. I knew when I first met Juliette that I was going to really like her as a human…little did I know that I would quickly come to know her as an aspiring small business owner, a like-minded creator, a bomb barista, a baller of a DJ, and a great friend. Juliette is the first person I text for recommendations, the person I go to when I need someone to laugh about another Spanish fail I had, and the space she has created has become one of the safest, most inspiring, places I regularly find myself.

“The music has always been part of me too..The music meets the mood of this place. You change a persons entire perspective because they experience the environment and it’s in the music, and what you see, and what you smell.

I think you will really appreciate the way Juliette shares her story. A perfect mix of positivity and transparency. Juliette has a gift, a vision, and the commitment, drive, and creativity to make that vision a reality. It is stories like this that I believe have the possibility to inspire individuals to really use their own gifts, to make it happen, to recognize that it will not ever be easy but it might just be worth it!

FOR YOU TO CONSIDER

The hope & vision for The Giving Gifts podcast is that through sharing real stories, from real people, who are navigating how to use their gifts in this world it will spur on conversations and encourage you to identify your gift, navigate how to use your gift, and find courage to share your own story!

  • Think about how you spend most of your time throughout this week. Does that time spent reflect what you care about most?

  • When was the last time you tried something new, something that scares you, something that pushes you out of your comfort zone?

  • Consider a friend or maybe family member who you see working really hard. Check in on them and see how they’re doing, let them know you see how hard they’re working and that you appreciate them for all they’re doing!

  • When are you going to make time to go to Ensenada and experience Casa Negra, Turista, Mornin, Raw, and Escala for yourself?!
